Day 12–Love Lets The Other Win

Today’s Dare:  “Demonstrate love by willingly choosing to giving into an area of disagreement between your spouse. Tell them you are putting their preference first”  (The Love Dare, 59.)

Good morning and happy Saturday.  After watching the movie Blended with my honey, I got some much-needed sleep.  I am putting away the awful of yesterday and realizing that I can make today whatever I want.  The movie Blended was really cute.  I always like the Drew and Adam–especially together.  Does anyone else root for certain real-life relationships to occur because they are so awesome on T.V. together?

We don’t really have plans today.  We may Read the rest of this entry »

Day 11–Love Cherishes

Today’s Dare:  “What need does your spouse have that you could meet today? Can you run an errand?  Give a back rub or foot massage?  Is there housework you could help with?  Choose a gesture that says, “I cherish you” and do it with a smile.”  (The Love Dare, 54.)

Good morning.  What a wonderful evening I had!  I hope you did, too!  After I did my evening update, I helped my son with an issue and when he went to his room(He’s 17 and doesn’t go to bed early anymore!), I told my honey I had a special surprise for him.  He looked pretty happy and asked what it was.  When I got the cannolis out, his face was priceless.  Let me tell you, I have been dieting a lot lately so this was soooo delicious. We sat there in the dimly-lit room, Read the rest of this entry »

Day 10–Love is Unconditional

Today’s Dare:  “Do something out of the ordinary today for your spouse–something that proves (to you and them) that your love is based on your choice and nothing else.  (Wash his car.  Clean the kitchen.  Buy his favorite dessert.  Fold the laundry.) Demonstrate Love to them for the sheer joy of being their partner in marriage.”  (The Love Dare, 49.)

Good morning!  According to my honey, I AM out of the ordinary?  How am I ever going to top Read the rest of this entry »

Day 9–Love Makes Good Impressions

Today’s Dare:  “Think of a specific way you’d like to greet your spouse today. Do it with a smile and with enthusiasm.  Then determine to change your greeting to reflect your love for him.”  (The Love Dare, 44.)

Good morning, Kenny Bloggins.  Heeeheee!  How did you like that greeting?    O.k, so I am not a comedian–but I do crack myself up.  How was your night?  Mine was good.  Pretty event-less after I wrote.  Every time I went to sleep last night, something kept waking me up. Not sure what–one time it was lights, the other times it was sounds.  I think the pot of coffee that I drink every night may have finally accumulated in my bloodstream full time!    I hate not having solid sleep. I need to go get my coffee soon!

Today’s dare is about greeting your spouse.  I remember when we were dating, I would have this set-in-stone smile plastered on my face.  When he would knock on my door, my heart fluttered and my face hurt from smiling so much.  Where does that go?  I miss that.  I am Read the rest of this entry »

Day 8–Love is Not Jealous

Today’s Dare:  “Determine to become your spouse’s biggest fan and to reject any thoughts of jealousy.  To help you set your heart on your spouse and focus on their achievements, take yesterday’s list of negative attributes and discreetly burn it.  Then, share with your spouse how glad you are about a success he or she recently enjoyed.”  (The Love Dare, 39.)

Good morning, my fellow blog lovers!  Its another rainy day in St. Louis.  I think that makes about 5 days in a row here.  Good thing I am not made of sugar, or I would have dissolved away by now–only leaving behind the hat, broom, and monkeys.

Today began, as usually–trying to get out the door and rush to my son’s school (which is far away!) in time for him to not be late–he was late.  The rain makes fellow drivers crazy–I don’t know if it is panic, or stupidity, but it’s scary out there!  On many days I leave without Read the rest of this entry »

Day 7–Love Believes the Best

Today’s Dare:  “For today’s dare, get two sheets of paper.  On the first one, spend a few minutes writing out positive things about your spouse.  Then do the same with negative things on the second sheet.  Place both sheets in a secret place for another day.  There is a different purpose and plan for each.  At some point during the remainder of the day, pick a positive attribute from the first list and thank your spouse for having this characteristic.”  (The Love Dare, 34.)

Good morning!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I began my day buried in put-off errands and phone calls that required immediate attention.  This is the reason for my delayed post this morning–trust me, I would have much rather have been writing this than taking Read the rest of this entry »

Day 6–Love is Not Irritable

Today’s Dare:  “Choose today to react to tough circumstances in your marriage in loving ways, instead of with irritation.  Begin by making a list of areas where you need to add margin to your schedule.  Then list any wrong motivations that you need to release from your life.”  (The Love Dare, 29.)

Oh No!!  I started my day without looking at this dare.  NOT GOOD!  Being irritable by nature, I began this day on an irritable note.  O.k., knowing better, I will now chill and work on it.

My list begins with this blog.  Nobody in my family knows Read the rest of this entry »
